RACE TO FUNDRAISE FOR RESEARCH
RECEPTION: SUNDAY, OCT 15 2017
Due to safety issues we have encountered with our venue, this year’s organizers had to put the official Race for Research event on hold until next year. However, we still have a very big job to do! This is the only event in Ottawa which raises funds for the local brain cancer research projects we’ve pledged to support this year, and we need your help!
There are 3 ways you can be part of our “race” to fundraise for brain cancer research:
1. Create your own event: host a fun run, walk, or similar event in your community and fundraise as you would have for the Race for Research. The difference is that you can now plan the event yourself and make it uniquely yours!
2. Join a local run and fundraise: for brain cancer research supported by the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. Here are a few to choose from: MEC Ottawa Race FIVE, Emilie's Run, Ottawa Fall Colours Run and more!
3. Fundraise for brain cancer research online: use email and social media to tell your networks why brain cancer research matters to you and ask for their support for a cause you care about!
You can register on this site to create your online fundraising page!
THE BEST PART: No matter what you choose, you’ll easily double your impact: local company M-Roc Drilling and Blasting will be matching your fundraising efforts up to $25,000!
Afterwards, join us for a special reception at the Cancer Foundation to celebrate your fundraising success, and meet up with other participants. You will also have the opportunity to learn about local brain cancer research directly from Dr. Ian Lorimer and Dr. Garth Nicholas, two doctors at the Ottawa Hospital currently making great strides in brain research and clinical trials.
WHEN: Sunday October 15th (specific time coming soon!)
WHERE: The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation, 1500 Alta Vista Drive
Thank you for your continued support!
