Robert Bateman P.S. Annual 2K Walk
THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR EVENT PAGE!
On June 21, students of Robert Bateman Public School will be participating in their 19th annual walk to raise money for Cancer Research.
The walk follows the path that Patrick walked to and from school. It begins each year with representatives from each class walking from the school with the Kennedy family. Each representative carries a ribbon which has been signed by the students in their class. When they arrive at the Kennedy house, they hang the ribbons on the tree that was planted in memory of Patrick.
The other students follow not far behind. As they walk around the tree, they see the ribbons hanging above.
The students make their way back to the school and every year, students help the Kennedy family set balloons free into the sky as the song "Clouds" plays.
In the past 18 years, the students have raised nearly $190,000 for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and their research initiatives.
